Rum Tasting: Flor de Caña is one of the most awarded rums worldwide. It is made in the arid lands of northwestern Nicaragua. The sugar cane, the main raw material from which this famous rum is produced, is harvested in the surroundings of the highest volcano in Nicaragua and one of the most active in Central America.
On our tour today, we will visit a local restaurant and will be given a detailed explanation of the distillation process of the different varieties of rum, ranging from 5 year old white rum to 7, 12 and 18 year rum. And we can’t forget the artisanal rum produced and consumed by local families and the preparation of the delicious “Macuá”, a combination of orange, guava and lemon juice extract with white rum. In each of these samples, you will have its respective glass for you to taste.
