Tour Details

Nicaragua is a country with a rich political, architectural and religious history and León is the cradle of all of the above. This is a historic city, founded in 1524, it is simply a unique city.

Our tour today includes visiting the largest cathedral in Central America. We will visit its dome and central nave. We will learn about its history, its symbolism and what it means for Nicaraguan society.
We will also visit and climb the youngest volcano in Nicaragua. At only 170 years old, the great Cerro Negro is an imposing but docile volcano to climb, well, I mean it is not one of the most difficult volcanoes to climb in Nicaragua.
This volcano is also the only active volcano where you can surf on its shifting sand. Cerro Negro is 50 minutes from Leon, it takes at least an hour to climb it, another half hour to enjoy the panoramic views it offers and about 15 minutes to slide on a board. This is an adventure that you will enjoy very much.
Once we have finished, we will return to the city of Granada, before arriving, we will stop at a local restaurant for lunch.
