Imagine a dense forest, located in the heart of the tropics, in an area where heat reigns, where temperatures are high and rainfall is low; but imagine that this forest is loaded with clouds, water in the skies that it attracts, and that this same forest turns these dense clouds and continuous rains, no matter the month of the year and how dry the region where it is located. That is the Mombacho Volcano and its cloud forest, unique in the region, almost extinct in the tropics. That is why taking a tour in this volcano does not compare with other volcanoes, because here, you are walking inside a true ecosystem that forms its own microclimate and that human beings today, we need in bulk.
Our trip to the El Tigrillo trail is a combination of The Cráter Trail (the smaller one) and El Puma trail (the larger one). Our tour on this trail will take about 3 hours. We will see dead craters, dense forests, spectacular viewpoints and above all, we will feel the spirit of nature at its best.
