A day of volcanoes in the land of Lakes and Volcanoes is something unique and today, our day of adventures is incomparable because hiking Mombacho Volcano, Relaxing in Apoyo Volcanic Lagoon and seeing magma at night in Masaya Volcano is something you can not do anywhere else in the region.

First we will climb the Mombacho Volcano, be sure to tell your travel planner which trail you would like to hike, El Cráter Trail, El Tigrillo Trail or El Puma Trail. The departure time from Granada will depend on the type of trail you wish to do but in any case, we will never leave before 7am.

Then we will drive 40 minutes from Mombacho Volcano to Laguna de Apoyo. Here we will spend 2 to 3 hours relaxing, and at 3pm, we will be heading to Masaya Volcano National Park for our night tour.

These three volcanoes, Mombacho, Apoyo and Masaya have been throughout history, the most emblematic of Nicaragua. Mombacho had a massive eruption 22 thousand years ago and formed an archipelago of 360+ islands in Lake Nicaragua. Apoyo had a spectacular eruption approximately 24,000 years ago and formed the deepest and widest volcanic lagoon in Central America and Masaya Volcano has had thunderous eruptions where its lava has traveled tens of kilometers and formed a 54 square kilometer valley of petrified lava, and its lava is still visible after thousand of year of activities.

This tour starts at 7 in the morning and ends at 7 at night, 12 beautiful hours where we mix adventure, scenery and relaxation.
